An Intimate Interview with Steiger Tractor Founder Doug Steiger

As young farmers in northwestern Minnesota, brothers Doug and Maurice Steiger had a need for a tractor larger than the IH and Caterpillar units they were using on their farm. Together with their father, John, they decided to build their own four-wheel drive tractor which eventually led to the Steiger Tractor Company in Fargo, ND, in 1969. Currently, Case IH uses the Steiger name on its largest, most powerful 4WD, articulated tractors. We got the chance to speak to Doug at the 28th National Red Power Round Up in Des Moines, Iowa in June 2017.
